Boudoir Unveiling

It’s time for an unveiling – and we’re taking it all off! Mostly. =)

It’s long been my intention to begin working in Boudoir photography, and I have finally started. Christmas is a great time to get things flowing, and so several months ago I launched a new boudoir-specific website called Seven Deadly Sins, a division of Admire Studios that keeps the underwear away from the many families whose photos I also long to take. So far I’ve done a shoot with a gentleman and a lady and there’s 3 or 4 people on the hook to do theirs soon, too. But I just couldn’t wait to reveal the newest and sexiest side of Admire – Seven Deadly Sins Boudoir. I was actually inspired by someone’s illustrations of women as representatives of the sins, and I think they were inspired by the Garth Nix Weekday series, which is also based on the Seven Deadly Sins. I was shocked to find that nobody in the boudoir world was doing it, and there seemed to be only one style of boudoir editing, too. Stark White with a few black or color accents. I wasn’t a big fan, so I wanted to offer something a little more daring, my own personal editing blend which I finally got to try out this week. I really wanted to get into doing boudoir for the average Jill and Joe – people who don’t look like models, people who just want to bring their sexy back. And so far, that’s exactly who’s coming – a man who’s afraid of cameras, and an almost astonishing number of women who have in common that they’ve just had their second child and want to feel sexy again. These are exactly the kind of people I want to work with, draw out their inner beauty and sexuality. Both the people in these photos commented on how comfortable they felt, and it really shows in the photos I think. My husband just finished a project in University about Boudoir where he interviewed me about my ideas. You can listen to it here if you’re interested – feel free to fast forward over stuff if you like. (And okay, fine, I do SOME editing to remove scars, especially if they’re non-permanent like stretch marks – I even did for the woman here (not so much for the gentleman, though). But it’s still always a judgment call – most of the work is still pre-processing.)

To make sure this blog is completely family friendly, I’ll put my boudoir work under a cut.
